Welcome to the  DCIC GREEN TEAM  resource page

- turning faith into action -

Many faiths teach that we have a moral responsibility for stewardship of the earth. In response to the urgent reality of global warming, faith leaders are increasingly taking actions that conserve and protect our environment.  Please peruse the information below to identify actions that your congregation and individual members can take.

Local action

Nexamp Community Solar

The DCIC has a partnership with Nexamp Community Solar which allows congregations to subscribe to a share of a local solar farm and receive credits on their utility bills for the energy produced by that share. Member congregations will receive a discount on electricity costs, and Nexamp will make a donation to the DCIC in proportion to the organization’s allocation. There is no cost to join, no equipment installed, no long-term commitment, guaranteed savings, and no cancellation fee. Please bring this opportunity to the attention of your clergy and board. Contact Yushi Kawasumi at Nexamp, (201) 314-3799 or ykawasumi@nexamp.com.

Pollinator Pathway

Your congregation’s and members’ property can support our endangered pollinators with native plants. Planting a pollinator garden is a wonderful activity for your families and religious school students. Learn more about the Pollinator Pathway and encourage your own municipality to join if it has not already done so.  Put your property on the Pathway map.
